How you define Image only files in terms of PDF Documents?

PDF(portable document format) documents are of four types:- image only files, untagged documents, tagged documents and electronic forms. These four different types of PDF documents vary in the accessibility feature.
Image only files
To access PDF documents which are image only files is somewhat difficult. These files are very difficult to access as they contain only graphic images instead of actual text characters. User having image in his mind that he is viewing the text on the screen but it is only the picture of the text. There is no underlying characters which is needed by a screen reader. The image only files are created when a user scan a paper document. Then an image of the document is created which is said to be image only files. The scanning process is similar to how a blind person uses a scanner with OCR(optical character recognition) software to read print materials. If the OCR software is not used while scanning the documents then user will find only image of the document which is image only file. Authors can use the Adobe Acrobat to perform OCR while creating PDF files. But many skip this point because it takes more time to distribute PDF documents with OCR rather than without OCR.
You can also find OCR software in some pdf converter and pdf to word converter online tools here. For more regarding OCR and its feature visit www.pdf-file.com
